No. 5 Typewriter
This is an old typewriter from the 1930's. The Underwood No. 5 has quite an iconic look to it, and it's the perfect sort of thing to have at the home office, or on display. Much like watching an old mechanical clock, these typewriters are really interesting to watch in action, and also pretty fun to use!
The only thing I actually needed to do to repair my typewriter was to give it a nice thorough clean. Most of the typebars stuck and the bell didn't ring, but after taking some Q-tips and warm water to it, everything worked just like new! I of course needed to purchase a new ribbon as well, but that's to be expected.
