Towel Rack 2
This is a redesign of my original towel rack. The idea of this rack is to be able to throw a small towel (hand towel, or dish washing towel) over it and the ladder setup will hold the towel up and allow it to dry faster than it would laying on a table. I made this to freely stand on a table, but you might be able to mount it on a wall using hooks on the back bar.
To prevent any water damage you should probably seal the wood with something. I imagine a moldy towel rack would be less than ideal...
- 1/4" Wood
- Optional: Square .25" x .5" Dowels or .25" x .25" Dowels
You can either cut out the ladder steps from the 1/4" wood, or use some dowels. I chose to use 12" long dowels since it seemed easier than cutting out 7 rectangles, plus it's easier to get a longer length that way.
The assembly is pretty straight forward. I slid the dowels through the mounting points on the side pieces, and then dropped a little glue in there to hold them in place. I chose to let the dowels go past the edge of the stand, but you could easily let them lay flush. Since the holes are actually .5" x .25", there was a gap left over after they were placed.
